About Individual Healing Prayer Sessions…

Dawn believes that healing happens in the body, in the emotions, in the mind, and in the spirit.  The spirit tends to be the deepest of the four and requires strategic attention and prayer. Sometimes spiritual healing will result in bodily healing and the healing of the emotions.  But what is almost always experienced with people is an overall "it is well with my soul" kind of understanding and contentment that can't be explained any other way, but that Jesus' divine Presence is restoring the soul. 

An inner healing prayer session is different from a typical counseling session although it does have some of the same components.  You will come into the session with a concern that needs attention and Dawn will get some background and a general idea of where she might need to go with your individual concern, much like therapy.   

EMDR will most likely be used as a therapeutic modality that will set up the inner healing session for the deeper work. The EMDR helps push through more rapidly the natural defensive posture of a typical session so that you can get to the root of the concern in one session.  Dawn has found that this combination of therapeutic practices seems to be the most effective. That is not to say that healing is "one and done", but generally it will help an individual move through the healing process more quickly.  Chrisitan counselors, like Dawn, often use it to expedite the healing process.  

The overall experience will be a bit like the corporate healing session that was done at the retreat but will focus on your individual story and concern.   

Dawn will often ask you recall a memory that holds a formative negative belief or feels very activated with emotion. She will then facilitate the experience while Jesus does the work of caring for you and reframing a memory, a felt experience, or a wounding so healing can happen.   You will be amazed at what the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit does in these sessions.
